Located at Black River Farms Vineyard & Winery in the heart of the Lehigh Valley, the Wardog distillery is home to master distiller and fun fact enthusiast, Dewey Teague. Using locally grown ingredients, Dewey has created a collection of spirits that have surpassed every trial and error test to make their way to you.

Our History

It all started with a piece of paper he found at the bottom of an old trunk that belonged to his Granddaddy. That piece of paper was actually his family’s recipe for Moonshine dating back more than 150 years. Dewey has a passion for fast cars and good whiskey, so he knew he needed to continue the family business and learn the tricks of the trade. After serving his Country in the United States Air Force as a member of the 20th Tactical Fighter Group, Dewey put that recipe to good use and started distilling. He uses his family’s exact recipe today, creating small batch spirits for Wardog Spirits, combining new technologies with old-school ways.

Dewey is honored to have the opportunity to carry on his family’s Moonshining tradition here at Wardog Spirits and is excited for the creative freedom to explore the old and new world of distilling.
